Birmingham Irish Heritage Group presents February 3rd 2016 at the Irish Centre 7pm.
‘The Sligo Masters’ a film and talk by historian Martin enright.

‘Now for the first time see the story of ‘The Sligo Masters’. From the rambling houses of south Sligo to the world stage in New York. We recall their rise within the recording industry, the indelible mark they left on the Irish music at home and abroad, and the personal tragedies which evoke both musical genius and human frailty.
Filmed on location in Sligo, Dublin, and New York, ‘The Sligo Masters’ recalls aa thriving musical industry of the 1920’s but one which collapsed during the Great Depression. We remember how the ballrooms of New York played host to great nights of Sligo music, and we hear from the current crop of Sligo musicians, those who now step into their Master’s shoes.’
Dear Pam, We at the Heritage Group would be grateful if you might include the above.
Please feel free to attend, you’d more than welcome as an honoured guest.
