The Gesture of the Arts in Such a Time

When: Saturday 18 March, 09:45-16:00
Where: Centrala, Minerva Works, Fazeley Street, Digbeth, B5 5RT

This one-day event at Centrala will take its inspiration from German philosopher Hans-Georg Gadamer’s 1970 essay Are the Poets Falling Silent?. However, the focus will be solely on women working today in the visual arts.

The central ambition of the seminar is to begin a wider discussion on the condition of art and female artists in an age of social unrest and discomfort. The symposium participants will present their own artistic practice, comprising performance, video screenings, and workshops.
