So do I. Which is why I was delighted to hear her song I Hate Men at Sunday Xpress in the Adam & Eve this evening.
‘They make you fat so you won’t cheat, then ask why you can’t be petite. Like their new girlfriend. I hate men. They ruin your whole weekend. I hate men. I don’t half hate men.’
I really enjoyed it, but men like Big Bren weren’t so pleased:
‘You need men because a vibrator won’t buy you a drink. So stop fucking complaining and get back to the kitchen sink.’
Must say I’m on Lizzy’s side on this one. Visit her myspace page to hear the full version.
The Sunday Xpress gang will be doing a new night ‘Barking @ The Spotted Dog’ next Saturday 25th October. Expect open mic, music and merriment.

In Lizzy Piffany’s own words:
It’s that time of the month again – please come and avail yourselves of some free roast potatoes and good cheer at the Sunday Xpress open mic, this Sunday at the Adam & Eve 3pm til 7pm. Singers, poets, comedians, strange music-makers and rattlesnakes will all be bearing their wares and you’re invited to do the same, or just come and make us a merry audience. Children who haven’t learned to talk yet are welcome to come and play with our in-house Wrote Under baby Rosie Woolf, but the older ones might pick up some bad language.
And a bit of advance warning – by popular demand the Wrote Under Co-operative is soon to be launching another splendid evening of open micery, and we’ve gone prime time! Barking @ The Dog, coming soon to a Saturday night near you. More to follow…

In Lizzy Piffany’s own words:
Please come to the Sunday Xpress open mic session this Sunday at the Adam & Eve, Bradford Street, Digbeth. Free entry, free roast potatoes, free arts & crafts, free junk stall, free entertainment, we’ll even give you some free advice if you ask for it. We are great.
Kicks off at 3pm, goes on however long we want but definitely til 7pm.
Whatever you feel like sharing with an audience, get down there and give it some air! I will of course be playing my new hit single, “I Hate Men”, as it went down so well last time. But there’ll also be comedy, poetry, stories, electronica, violins, bearded ladies, ace costumes and more.
