    • Happy Robot Music: Omnia Opera, Betty and the Id, Windscale gig – Three live bands play at 22 Green St warehouse on Saturday 18th October 2008 for “a demented mashup of plasma rock, psychedelia, post rock, prog, electronica and acid”. Plus Dj’s – Sir Real, Papa Zit, Jajouka, DJ Ronco K-Tel. Visuals by Catweasel.
    • Group Project – Feastside – Feastside is what the plan to turn abandoned building sites into green a pleasant has been christened. Join the online wiki group to get involved. There’s talk of a meeting on the evening of next Weds 22nd Oct, I’ll keep you posted on the details once confirmed.
    • Blog Action Day happened and Pete Ashton found talking to the Birmingham Carers Network very rewarding. I was very sorry to miss this.  Nick Booth has posted the surgery’s provisional results, Stef Lewandowski helped build a site for the Jubilee Debt Campaign, Chris Unitt found there was some serious learning on both sides and it all made Charlotte Carey ask what can enterprise do?
    • City Centre Campus set for green light in Eastside « Birmingham Eastside – The planned Birmingham City University will apparently bring employment and regeneration with it, with assurances it won’t jeopardize nearby historic buildings like Curzon Street Station.

    St Patrick’s Day Festival Update – Notes from Spaghetti Gazetti about the St Patrick’s Day Festival meeting in The Irish Club last Thursday evening, which featured feedback from the 2008 parade and plans and hopes for the 2009 event.

    Eastside’s set for a phallic spaceship – Pettifer’s design for a Vertical Theme Park in Birmingham: ‘a stunning city centre leisure tower combining observation platforms, family and adrenaline rides, extreme activities, and a 21st century entertainment centre.’

    Digbeth has the best dancefloors – Ben Neal picks up on The Guardian’s ruling that The Custard Factory and The Rainbow are amongst the greatest dancefloors, which is strange as one’s an emptied pool and the other’s an old boozing pub so they’re not exactly purpose-built for the job.
