What a lot I found waiting for me in my in my Googlereader after a week in the wilderness! Here’s my picks:
- Photos of Emerica on The Ramp | Custard Factory – Has anyone else noticed how skater kids seem to be taking over The Custard Factory? Here’s a few of them in action.
- Urban Walk: Follow bank holiday hedonism – Birmingham Mail – The Ramblers Association give us a pub crawl of Digbeth.
- Digbeth Graffiti – no smearcats here « Inspiraculum – A tour of Digbeth’s graffiti landmarks.
- Urban Flow « Inspiraculum – Ambient Grand Union Canalside action. Muddy waters along to chilled-out music, turn the lights down and the volume up.
- Stef Lewandowski » The Big Picture breaks a World Record (and generates a mini debate) – The Big Picture happened whilst I was away and I was very glad to learn the boxer won, he was always my favourite. Stef’s round-up seems to be the best coverage of the event and the ensuing debate around it that appeared on Nick Booth’s site.
- Len Lye films at Ikon Eastside on 6 September – An evening of Len Lye films, which Ikon have organised in collaboration with 7 Inch Cinema. There is also a rare screening of Lye’s first film Tusalava with a live score by jazz pianist Alcyona. Places are free but must be booked.
- The Guardian Guide’s preview of The Eternal Now: Warhol and The Factory – an exhibition of Andy Warhol films at the Ikon Eastside 4th September – 19th October.
