I was sent this link over two years ago by Simon Linford, one of the team behind the hugely successful redevelopment of The Woodman.
Saving Bartholomew Row was to be their next project, to bring the historic Christopher Wray building back into use as part of a student accommodation scheme. The existing building is to be converted into offices and a coffee shop, building a tower behind it to satisfy the explosion in demand for student accommodation in the city centre.
The scheme looks to be high-quality and respectful of the heritage of the site – something of a trademark of the team. I noticed on a walk past the building a couple of weeks ago that hoardings have now been erected, which suggests that after over two years in the planning, work is to begin soon.
