OPM Expansion

Where: 9 Shaw’s Passage, Digbeth, B5 5JG
When: Thursday to Saturday, 11:30-23:00 | Sunday, 11:30-22:00

Digbeth’s Original Patty Men are expanding!

We all know that OPM offer a meat fix unlike any other, and with a no-reservations policy, diners regularly queue for over an hour for a table. But from October, they’ll be able to wait next door in the comfort of the new bar, Patty Men Extra, receiving a message on their phone when a table is free.

The bar will feature craft beer as well as a small range of cocktails and will serve light snacks like grilled cheese sandwiches and charcuterie boards. Tom and Scott, the team behind OPM, want to highlight the growing microbrewing scene in Birmingham.

Having applied for a change of use and a bar licence, OPM will keep the outdoor seating area between the bar and the restaurant, and open for one more day a week – taking business from Wednesday to Sunday.

Between the two venues, at the back of the outdoor space, the owners plan to build a bakery (perhaps out of shipping crates) so they can make their own burger buns and become almost self-sufficient.

We wish the team all the best of luck, and will keep you updated with OPM news. In the meantime, you can visit the OPM website, like them on Facebook, or follow the guys on Twitter.
