The Mockingbird Cinema and Kitchen has had a facelift, and a slight name change, but is still the great independent single-screen cinema Digbeth has come to cherish and love.

As well as serving delicious food, craft beers, and cocktails, The Mockingbird Cinema and Kitchen is now also a full-time cinema, screening the latest Hollywood releases alongside firm classics. Keeping to a tried-and-tested formula, the team regularly put on themed food and drink to complement the films being showed, transforming a visit to the movies into a memorable night out.

If that wasn’t enough, the intimate cinema is available for private hire! For more information, see The Mockingbird website or Twitter; film times are available here.

Had a scary/hilarious experience at the excellent Birmingham Film Festival screenings at the Mockingbird last weekend. After watching a horror movie and finding myself sitting next to the guy that played the serial killer I went through a door marked “toilets” at the front of the cinema. As the door swung shut and locked behind me I found myself in a small lobby faced with another locked door! Thankfully my panicked banging soon brought help but be warned people!M
