Evolve at The Adam and Eve

Where: The Adam and Eve, 201 Bradford Street, Digbeth, B12 0JD

After closing in 2014, the Adam and Eve is almost ready to begin a new chapter as a cafe and community hub.

The social enterprise New Leaf Living partnered with the Spring Housing Association to convert the upstairs rooms into 15 apartments for vulnerable young people affected by drugs, alcohol, mental health or homelessness. Then the charity Aquarius was given the task of transforming the downstairs public bar areas in the Evolve Café, to provide apprenticeship opportunities for young people as a positive step into employment.

As Aquarius believe in offering holistic support, mentoring will be provided alongside apprenticeship training, as well as various support groups. The building will also offer multi-purpose rooms for hire by local businesses for meetings and events.

To help the project get off the ground, Aquarius has launched a crowdfunder with the aim of turning Evolve into the place to go to work, meet with friends, or even turn your new business idea into a real project.

This is a project worthy of your support. Watch the video below for more information, and to pledge from just £5 visit crowdfunder.co.uk/evolvebrum. You can keep up to date with Evolve via their Twitter and Facebook pages.
