As well as being retailers of food, funerals, flowers and holidays, the Central England Co-operative is a member-owned society with a commitment “to provide education facilities and cultural and recreational activities for members of the society and their families”.
The society has been offering recreational activities at the Birmingham and Midland Institute for 30 years, but has recently moved to the Irish Centre in Digbeth, where they are offering a range of classes that anyone can join. Each class carries a small fee, and people attending are asked to become members of Central England Co-operative which costs £1.
The society is in the process of updating online listings, but the current event offering is available below. For more information, visit the Central England Co-op website here; the Film Co-op also has a Facebook group here.
