The incident happened in the early hours of Saturday 5 November on Digbeth High Street near to the Kerryman and Dubliner public houses.

Two men aged 48 and 22 suffered serious injuries.

Officers are keen to trace any witnesses to this incident and are particularly keen to speak with a man, believed to be a taxi driver, who took the injured victims to hospital.

A 34-year-old man was arrested and charged with attempted murder, wounding with intent and possession of a bladed article in connection with the incident.

He appeared at Birmingham Magistrates on 16 November where he was remanded into custody.

Birmingham Printmakers: Open Studio at Birmingham Printmakers – Birmingham Pritmakers on Floodgate Street are holding an Open Studio on Saturday 26th November at 10am-4pm.

Members of Birmingham Printmakers will there to talk about their work, some will be demonstrating print techniques and there will be items for sale such as original prints, cards, gifts, wrapping paper all in time for Christmas. There will also be drinks and nibbles to get you in the festive spirit.

The Eagle and Tun in 2002 by Pete's Quiz

Pubs: Then & Now: #032 Eagle & Tun, Digbeth : 1998 to 2011 (RIP??) – A brilliant homage to the sadly closed Eagle and Tun pub, charting through its phases as the Ansells pub The Cauliflower Ear, to its days as The Eagle and Tun Free House to the empty, boarded-up building it is now. The pub was famous for being UB40′s favourite haunt and consequently the set for this music video:

Only After Dark – Only After Dark is a ‘monthly club night based on the Bowie nights of the late 70s/early 80s and the Rum Runner/Blitz Club nights around 1980, featuring many artists from the Glam Rock/Punk/New Wave/Electronic and New Romantic genres’.
