Birmingham regularly features top of the polls for ‘most boring city’, which still staggers me. There are many reasons why Birmingham does not deserve this accolade – Droplet is just but one.

Born in Birmingham, Droplet is a new app hoping to transform the way the world uses money. All you need is an active email address to get going. Top-ups are secure and free of charge, with none of your card details stored (at all). “Droplet Online Ltd” will appear on your bank statement as if you have been to a cash machine, with the money being on your phone instead of in your wallet. As well, as being able to pay for loads of stuff using the app, you can also transfer money in-app to your contacts. See the video above for more information.
