Moat Lane Tragedy

Digbeth was the site of another tragedy at Moat Lane car park last Monday. Roads were closed and Police called to the scene after witnesses saw a woman fall from the multi-storey car park at around 17:30 on Monday 20th August.

Despite medical attention, the unnamed woman was pronounced dead at the scene. An inquiry has been launched into her death and her family have been informed. West Midlands Police have appealed for witnesses or anybody who saw the woman at Moat Lane car park before her death to contact 101. Although a week has passed, they are still no wiser as to what happened.

Our thoughts are with the woman’s family at this difficult time.

It is concerning that two individuals have died at Moat Lane car park in the last two months. The worry is that with two tragedies in such a short space of time, the site may become a target or ‘destination’ for people in a dark place. Here’s hoping that these events were just an unfortunate coincidence and not the start of an awful trend.
