Earlier this year, we reported about the Stockhausen opera performance taking place in Digbeth, and it seems that Digbeth Residents Association are not the only people excited by it:

@mydigbeth@digbeth It sure is! And rightly so. It’s very exciting to be based in such a great area for this show.— Birmingham Opera Co (@BirminghamOpera) August 10, 2012
The accompanying festival, Stockhausen – A Festival of Light, taking place from 19th-21st August, includes a visit to the dress rehearsal of Mittwoch aus Licht at Argyle Works. The main performances of the opera are sold out, so if you don’t have a ticket, it’s an opportunity to see a portion of the performance.

Tickets are £25 (£15) and can be bought through the festival website.
The helicopter string quartet will also be broadcast on The Space, a new experimental digital arts service from the BBC and Arts Council England. So you can still be involved in the performance from the comfort of your own home!
However, if you’d like to watch the performance socially, it will be shown live on the big screen at the Spotted Dog pub on Thursday 23rd August, from 4pm (until 10pm).
