This weekend: Edible Eastside, The Event and Supersonic

edible eastside invite launch

Happy Friday people! And what a big weekend we’ve got ahead of us. First off, there’s the launch of the ‘concrete garden’ Edible Eastside on Fazeley Street later on this afternoon, at 4-7pm, where you can see…

‘…a huge visualisation of the site as a garden, which will be showing alongside a bonfire and lights on the site…We will feast on foraged delicacies, with wild mushroom and nettle tapenade canapes, with mulled wine and I am working on the recipe for a new candy – the Warwick Bar!’

We also see the start of The Event, which will take over numerous Digbeth arts and other venues (including The Lamp Tavern, The White Swan and Eastside Cafe) until 30th October. Today’s timetable, which includes events at The Lombard Method and Grand Union, culminates in a launch party at Eastside Projects.

Last but not least, it’s the weekend-long Supersonic music festival, for which I believe there are still weekend and day tickets available. Check out the timetable and get booking or if you’re feeling like being spontaneous, head to the box office next to Boxxed on Floodgate Street. Be sure to pack a warm jumper and earplugs before you set out (I speak from experience).

Enjoy yourselves this weekend, there’s no excuses not to!
