A request for help from Jayne Bradley of Edible Eastside, a cause well worth giving up an hour or so of your Sunday for. If you would like to help, please email Jayne so she has an idea of numbers for catering purposes.
Many of you know I am developing a food growing garden in Eastside, called Edible Eastside. I need a final push to clear the land of concrete, bricks, old cans, buddleia, (nothing too heavy!) before I can begin to build the raised beds so I can finally start growing food.
I am asking for a favour. Can you spare and hour or longer of your time this Sunday to come and help me fill a big skip with this rubbish from the site? I have some CSV volunteers, Community Pay-Back volunteers, k4 staff and BCU students helping already, but the more the merrier. Drinks and snacks will be served throughout the day and a delicious BBQ and beer at the end of the day will be served to say thank you.
I will provide and tools, dust masks and gloves, but bring your hardiest boots or wellies. I am not sure what the weather will be like, but assume the worst and bring your anoraks.
I hate asking for favours like this when I know you are all busy, but I am running out of time and resources and just need that final push to move the project forward.
I will owe you one (I love cooking, so please ask!).
I have attached a flyer about the garden your your information.
See you on Sunday I hope
Jayne Bradley of Edible Eastside, A Concrete Garden.
