Inside the Alan’s Cafe/Fazeley Boxing Club building on Fazeley Street

Fazeley Street listed building

The other day myself and William Perrin noticed the front door of the above building on Fazeley Street was wide open, so we walked in.

I got up one flight of stairs before finding one of the builders working in the building, he told me that they’re currently making it safe and watertight.

He also told me that Pat Roach (AKA Auf Wiedersehen, Pet’s bricklayer Brian “Bomber” Busbridge) used to train in the Fazeley Boxing Club that was on the top floor!

NB: Dave Harte has kindly pointed out in the comments that I have a previous post on this, which links to a great set of pictures of the club on the 28 Days Later site.

    Damn, Dave got there first!

Oddly I was looking at the building yesterday and thinking they’d started sprucing it up. The scaffolding around the back has gone, for a start. Good to know something’s happening with it at last.

  3. Yes Dave, you’re right. My bad for not placing the two pieces together. :-)
