What’s happening at The Margarett Rose Abri Cafe tonight and tomorrow

Stuart’s emailed me a couple of things happening at the Cafe at The Margarett Rose Abri, 58-59 Cheapside (corner of Cheapside and Birchall St):

First up tonight (Thursday 3rd June) at 8.30pm is the regular ‘Coffee Shop Poets’ open mic for poetry and the spoken word, where people can read out their work or just chill out and listen. Admission’s free and all styles/genres are welcome.

Tomorrow, Friday 4th. of June at 8pm is the long awaited return of ‘The Espresso Sized Theatre’ – an evening of short, sharp plays and monologues to make you sit up! All plays are under 25 mins long with no more than a cast of 4 and minimum props etc. This time round there’ll be pieces by Jan Watts, Stuart Zola, Gary Longden and Jane Campion Hoye.

Maragrett Rose Abri are already looking for writers or actors who would like to put something on for Espresso Theatre 3 in the Autumn. These can be script in hand, excerpts from larger works etc. Anyone interested can either come on Friday and let Stuart know of their interest or email abricafe@googlemail.com for more info.
