Andrew Moscardo-Parker installation at Vivid

I was pretty blown away by Andrew Moscardo-Parker’s Untitled installation at VIVID and glad I caught it before it ended today.  The programme described it as:

This new immersive audio-visual work explores the fracture of linear time frames in an attempt to suspend the audience in the continuous ‘now’.

Which didn’t really make much sense to me, but the thing itself was great.  Being in a room with the Selfridges bubbles projected onto all the walls felt kind of like being in a big, Brummie padded cell and much like the music, that was both comforting and sinister.  I loved the Google earth images projection, that seemed to flick quickly through all the Birmingham postcodes.  I found the whole thing quite hypnotic – I spent a good ten minutes in there and would have happily stayed a lot longer.  More engrossing pieces like this, please!
