Sunday lunch at social enterprise on Cheapside

cheapside post office

Well this looks interesting.  A little while back I noticed the old Post Office building on Cheapside, which had remained in the traditional pillar box red for years, had been repainted a more neutral cream and green.  So I took photo on my phone and promptly forgot about it.  But then yesterday I get this email:

Hi Nicky,  we are organising a big lunch/launch of a social enterprise which will provide a cafe for the Deritend/Digbeth residents to chill out on a Sunday morning.  The lunch starts at 1pm on Sunday 19th July and all locals are encouraged to attend in order to meet their neighbours and provide a start for a community spirit to develop.

Address; 58-59 Cheapside, Dertiend, Birmingham B12 0PG. Corner of Birchall street near the red post box.

Jean McLeod, Project Manager & Local Resident, Margarett Rose Abri

So that’s my Sunday dinner sorted.  Please join us if you can, but if you can’t I’ll be sure to report back.
