Storytelling in the Spotted Dog

Ben Whitehouse rounded off what was a brilliant WxWM2 at The Spotted Dog on 28th May nicely with a little, reflective, storytelling session.  Ben is a lovely, gentle storyteller who has a knack of making you think and feel about things.  I think he should be a regular by the Spotted Dog’s fire, telling us tales and making us stop and take stock.

One Response to Storytelling in the Spotted Dog

  1. Hello Nicky, I’ve got a really special place for the Spotted Dog in my heart.

I’d rather not be a storyteller by the fire but I’d love to stage Conor McPhereson’s play “The Weir” in the Spotted Dog. Four men in an Irish pub are joined by a younger woman from Dublin and the group begin telling stories of Irish folklore in an attempt to scare her. She then tells her story and… well… ooof! It’s good stuff, potent stuff. (Leave marks on the walls with the words potent) Haunts me to this day since I saw it at school.

So, anyway, your desire for stories from me might not be do-able but I reckon we could find four blokes and a woman to put the play on in your bit of the pub around the fire on a cold winter night.
