Russ L’s already decided on the first City Death Match by asking:
Brasso The Bull vs That Big Ceramic Fish – who will be the civic-animal-monument champion?
I was also thinking street art, because Birmingham has some very interesting graffiti and…um…so does Belfast. Is there anything else you want to see fight it out? Let me know if so!

Quarters. Does Belfast have a ???? Quarter like Brum has an Irish Quarter. Which bits of Belfast are the least “Belfasty”?
Ooohhhh….that’s an inneresting one – we’ll check it out, thanks! :-)
How’re their Social Media Cafes and Surgeries doing?
1) Where do the emo kids hang out in Belfast?
2) Does Belfast have a big city plan?
3) Is Belfast’s oldest pub really as old as it says it is, and is it older than The Old Crown?
In other words, my head-to-heads are:
- Birmingham Cathedral against equivalent yoof hangout;
- Big City Plan against Belfast’s equivalent (if it has one);
- Oldest pubs (which has the oldest and which is better)
I think the fish vs bull will depend on the location of the death match.
If it’s on land- the bull wins. In the sea and the fish wins.
It’s all a question of context.
The Belfast City Council consulted the pillock Clive Dutton this year when trying to organise an “Oirish Quarter”. They hadn’t visited the ballsup that his department has produced in Brum, obviously.
