Brum vs Belfast #6: Emo Hang-outs

Michael Grimes posed the question: Where do the emo kids hang out in Belfast?

Well, we all know where they hang out in Birmingham, on the lawn surrounding St Philip’s Cathedral:

But in Belfast they hang out in Custom House Square/Queens Square:

You see the difference – in Belfast they don’t just get a patch of land to mooch in, they get water jets from The River Farset that runs underneath to frolic in.  Which they do with typically youthful abandon:

The kids also have the perfect skate park in the shape of Custom House Square:

Birmingham skater kids usually end up in Centenary Square, which is a good walk away from St Philip’s Cathedral.  Belfast’s 2-in-1 setup must do wonders for Emo-Sk8er relations.  Unless, of course, they, like, need a bit of space to sort their heads out and that:

Belfast wins the #brumvsbelfast emo hang-out round because the kids have floor water-fountains to play in and lots of concrete to skate on.  Bless their cotton socks.
