- BIRMINGHAM Mail editor Steve Dyson joins transport bosses to cut the turf at the site of the new Digbeth Coach Station due to open in August next year.
- Catnip on Gigbeth: urban music festival or urban myth? – ‘You won’t get chance to see a load of up and coming artists that you’re excited about having heard them a lot on music radio recently, over one weekend in the same city. You’ll see a hotchpotch of whatever acts the promoters, that are lumped together under the umbrella of “Gigbeth”, (probably) already had booked for that night anyway, a few local bands and a couple of token acts provided by Gigbeth themselves….It could be so great, it’s got a great name, a great home (Birmingham) with some great venues, but it’s got no cohesion and a severe lack of decent acts.’
- Screen Media Lab – Have a building round here. Or something. Read Dave Harte’s comment, which has the right links and info after I posted an out of date link. Whoopsie.

The Screen Media Lab link is a confusing one. You’re better off linking to the main Screen Media Lab website where you get directed to the various support services that Birmingham City University offer in that building (on Bromley street). One of them was indeed a project called Digital Central which I ran for a couple of years whilst at the university. The website’s still up there as it has some stuff in the research section that might still be useful. It’s a tad confusing I appreciate.
Dave
I think the Digital Central blog post that mentions Screen Media Lab is an old one that was shunted through RSS-land along with a few others earlier today.
ok thanks Chris – one day I will understand how the internet works.
