Links for September 8th

  • The Eccentric City’s Youtube channel – The Eccentric City’s Mayor of Happiness Harry Palmer and Butler of Joy Simon (sans hat) spread the love around Birmingham.
  • Bradford Street’s a battleground – According to Brett Wilde ‘many battles took place here between 1642 and 1648 between the Cavaliers and the Roundheads during the English Civil War’. Now it’s between the Blues and the Villa fans during closing time.
  • Tour De Brum: ILLEGAL STREET RACE – First we get Digbeth Olympics and now there’s Tour De Brum, the most illicit fun you’ll have on two wheels. Meet on Saturday 13th September 1pm at Allison Street (near Sprocket Cycles, who are in no way involved apparently).
  • Created in Birmingham » Souled Out extras – If Rod Peace, Rooty’s own Godfather of Soul, doesn’t get a starring role in this film it’ll be a crime.
  • Created in Birmingham » Birmingham Photospace – Birmingham Flickr group members are meeting in Rooty’s on Weds 17 Sept to discuss a photospace for Birmingham from 6.30pm. All welcome!
